Excellent product for the price. Love Radio on the go. This is the third Sony armband type radio that I have had. I am a talk-show junkie, Rush,Glen and local radio.
Lousy reception, static, two stations at once, no reception, etc.MUCH bigger and clunkier than pictured. You need three arms to fasten armband.Battery door pops open frequently.I would NOT recommend or purchase again.
Design -- the volume wheel is poorly placed so it is prone to accidentally getting turned up or down suddenly3. I bought this after searching futilely for a small mp3 player with am/fm radio. Price -- way overpricedConclusion -- I'd recommend passing on this product unless you absolutely want a Sony armband radio Reception -- yes there are many factors that contribute to this, but let's just say that I find this product consistently having problems picking up AM stations4. Since I listen frequently to radio I decided to go with this radio-only product. My main complaints:1. Size & Shape - not very compact and the curved shape is awkward if you decide not to use the armband configuration (it also comes with a standard belt clip)2.
The cheaper one for $29 is much better on all accounts. In short, it is a complete disaster. Save $10 and get the better product. This should be avoided. It is very difficult to program, the buttons are small, and the controls are very confusing.
This little radio is a mixed bag for sure. Poorly programed to be programmed. On the minus side the control buttons are so tiny you may need nail to push the buttons. (My fingers are about average in size).
Another gripe. There are much more intuitive devices for programming. The reception is not as good as my old Walkman either. The single AAA battery lasts about 2 weeks at an hour or two a day. Not a big problem if you live within 35 miles of your radio towers. On the plus side the sound is fantastic.
You will need to keep the manual because if you don't you will not remember how to program stations etc. Had they been smart to make this thing slightly larger (Gee, it might be then easy to use) they could have used a slightly larger AA battery that would last a year. My fingers are too big to work the controls. As this is supposed to be a sports radio it is a joke that if you were running with this you would have to stop under a strong light, get out your magnifying glass and pointy tool to change from AM to FM or to change stations.
